Alysa Freeman graduated cum
laude from Connecticut College
in 1993 where she studied
philosophy, art and music, and
received her law degree from The
Dickinson School of Law of The
Pennsylvania State University in
1998. While at Dickinson, she
served on The Dickinson Law
Review, which published her
article titled Go To The Mall
With My Parents?? A
Constitutional Analysis of the
Mall of America's Juvenile
Curfew. Ms. Freeman is admitted
to practice law in Georgia, New
York and New Jersey. Ms. Freeman
is admitted to practice in all
Georgia state and appellate
courts, the United States
District Courts for the Northern
and Middle Districts of Georgia,
and the Eleventh U.S. Circuit
Court of Appeals. Ms. Freeman’s
practice focuses on the areas of
plaintiff’s employment law and
civil rights. Ms. Freeman
represents clients in age, race,
gender, pregnancy, sexual
harassment, family medical
leave, religion, national
origin, disability, retaliation
and wage and hour disputes. She
also represents individuals in
contract disputes and separation
of employment negotiations.
Before founding Alysa Freeman,
P.C., Ms. Freeman worked at
Parks, Chesin & Walbert and at
Miller & Billips, two of the
Southeast’s premiere plaintiff’s
employment litigation firms.
While there Ms. Freeman honed
her skills in the litigation of
employment discrimination,
harassment and retaliation
disputes from intake through
trial.
Before practicing civil rights
work, Ms. Freeman represented
disability claimants in Social
Security Administration
disability benefits
applications, hearings and
appeals. Ms. Freeman is the
founder of The Atlanta Lawyers'
Orchestra and currently serves
as the orchestra’s Treasurer.
She serves on the board of the
Georgia chapter of the National
Employment Lawyers' Association
and the Labor and Employment Law
Section of the Atlanta Bar
Association, and she is a member
of the Atlanta Bar Association
and the Georgia Association of
Women Lawyers. |
